A goal is a desired result that a person or a system envisions, plans and commits to achieve: a personal or organizational desired end-point in some sort of assumed development. Many people endeavor to reach goals within a finite time by setting deadlines.
This is the definition of goal according to Wikipedia. But think again, Is goal is just an fancy word or some motivational topic for you?? For some one their goal can be "Getting 95% marks" for some it can be getting a "Higher Pay Check", it can be personal or professional. They differ person to person. In order to achieve goals it is necessary that they are right for and you are right for them.

Before doing something it's important that you are aware of your merits and demerits, What you can do and what is not meant for you. A Horse can run fast but can't fly. So first of all get to know yourself. Write down what you have done in your entire life that you liked and you are good at it. Look for other people which are already working in this field, seek guidance.

2 Write Down Your Goals
"The things that get written down are the things that get done." Now that you have finalized your goals and they are not just some random thoughts in your mind, they will increase your awareness towards them. Hang them where you spent most of your time. They will make place in your sub-conscious mind you will soon start feeling like "you should do something really quick now to achieve them".
3 Be friend with people of your type
Friends and colleague have a huge impact on our life.
"We're who we do lunch with"If your friends and you have same goals then your focus on your goals and productivity will increase. You will be saving yourself some time, energy and above of all you will be sharing same interest, so it will also deepen your relationship.
4. Make strategy:
"A goal without a plan is just an wish"Make a strategy, and stick to it till the end. Every way is good and leads you somewhere you just need to complete. Make a full proof plan, look for pros and cons, if it suits you and help you to achieve your goal, make it your life.
5 Evaluate Your Goals :
What's the use of these goals and your efforts if you don't know what you're doing is actually effective or not. Take some time daily and look at your goals and think what I've done yet or what I'm going to do is helping me or not? It will keep you aware of what you are doing and what are the areas you need to improve.
Go to meets, try to make strategies and discuss them with experts, make contacts, eat healthy. All these little thing results in greater goods. Try to live from your mind's view. Take 10 minutes in the morning and meditate and never loose hope.
